tumi je aamaar ogo tumi je aamaar = you are mine. kaane kaane shudhu ek baar bolo tumi je aamaar = tell me in my ears just once that you are mine. The rest of the song has to do with her telling him what he means to her. His playing the flute touches her heart. He is her light in the darkness. All she wants in life is him etc. At the very end of the song Uttam Kumar tells Suchitra Sen that he will never forget her in this lifetime. Ironic because he does exactly that later in the movie. He was an amnesia victim when he married her and when he regains his earlier memory he forgets the time when he met her and their subsequent marriage. The rest of the movie is about her struggle to come back in his life and for him to remember her. It was a beautiful movie with a happy ending.

This is one of my favorite Geeta Dutt songs. The movie was also fantastic. By the way Geeta Dutt and Hemant Kumar teamed together in the Hindi movie "Police" where they sang together 'chale hum kahaan' using the same tune.
